Vegan Bone Broth

Obtain all the health benefits of a bone broth without having to consume animal bones with this convenient and easy to make vegan bone broth. This recipe contains sea moss gel for the formulation of collagen and it is a sure hit for making soup recipes.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Sea Moss Gel 
  • thumb size piece of ginger 
  • a handful of cilantro or culantro 
  • 3 dry or fresh bay leaves
  • 10 cups spring water
  • 1 cup dandelion greens 
  • 1 cup dried kelp 
  • 2 cups dried mushrooms

  • Slow Cooker

Instructions

  1. In your slow cooker, add your sea moss gel, sea salt, and all the vegetables (dandelion greens, fresh bay leaves, and ginger). Fill it using spring water and cook it in low heat for 8 hours.
  2. After 8 hours, get a strainer and place it over a large bowl. Pour the broth into the bowl through the strainer.
  3. In a clean mason glass jar, you can now transfer the homemade vegan broth and store it in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. If you opt to put it in the freezer, it can last for up to three months.
  4. You can add this vegan bone broth to your soup, quinoa, or other recipes that would require broth. You can even drink it for half a cup a day.
