What is Sea Moss?

Sea Moss aka Irish Moss aka Chondrus Crispus / Gracilaria is a sea plant derived from Red Algae. Sea moss is rich in minerals and antioxidants. It is believed to be native to the Atlantic Coast of Europe and North America.

What is the difference between gel and capsules?

The main difference between the two is that capsules take much longer to break down and digest, usually about 20 to 30 minutes.

On the contrary, gel is, unprocessed and blended, starts being absorbed as soon as it gets into the body, starting with mucous membranes in the oral cavity to the entire lining of the gut.

What is the difference between Irish moss and sea moss?

Irish Sea Moss is a popular name for sea moss as it gained worldwide recognition after a potato famine occurred in the 1800's. People ate sea moss that washed up on shore and survived. Later research revealed the 92 plus minerals along with other properties is what allowed the people to survive.

Sea Moss is native to wherever it grows so while most people in the Caribbean refer to it as Irish Moss it's really Jamaican Sea Moss, St. Lucia Sea Moss or whatever island it was harvested near.

Is Carrageenan the same thing as Sea moss?

Carrageenan is a food additive that can be derived or extracted from Irish moss, but it's not the same thing as whole food sea moss. Carrageenan is one active and concentrated component of the whole food that is Irish moss. BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

How do I consume Sea Moss?

You may eat it straight, mix in with your smoothies, tea, or coffee, apple sauce etc. Also can be an additive when cooking.

How does it taste?

The taste is extremely mild. Honestly hard to explain, but it taste exactly how it smells. MILD "sea like" flavor

Should I continue my iodine supplement if I consume sea moss?

Due to the already natural high levels of iodine you may not consume. You would need to replace your supplement with the gel if you so choose and your physician approves. Or else abstain from using.

I am currently on blood thinners, should I still consume sea moss?

Irish Moss functions as a natural thinner. You should abstain from using.


Is sea moss moss safe for children/babies?

Sea moss is safe for all ages because it is loaded with nutrients that are vital to the human body. For children 5 and under 1 scoop is sufficient a day. Ages 6 and up can consume 2 scoops a day if not more.

Where is Sea Moss harvested?

Our sea moss is harvested off the coast of the Philippines, St Lucia and Grenada.

What is the shelf life of the sea moss gel?

Sea moss is good in the refrigerator for atleast 4 weeks. It can also be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months in a freezer safe container. If your gel starts to mold please discard.

How long is the order process/shipping?

We ask for 5-7 business days( Monday through Friday) to process your order. Once USPS receives your package. Priority shipping is 1-3 business days to receive the order to your residence. How much sea moss do I consume a day?

Sea moss is loaded with nutrients and minerals - one of the most abundant being iodine, which plays a key role in thyroid function. It’s important to note that optimal function within our bodies is accomplished when there is a perfect balance of necessary nutrients.

Too much iodine can throw our body’s balance or homeostasis out of whack just as much as too little iodine could. Although, modern-day diet and lifestyles make it hard to get too much iodine, so that’s generally not a concern. The recommended dosage of sea moss is about 2-3 tablespoons or scoops. That translates to about 6 to 9 grams of sea moss per day.

What are the side effects of sea moss?

Most of the adverse side effects of Irish moss is dependent on the person using it. Though sea moss is perfectly safe for the general population. people who have low blood pressure or those patients who are taking sympathomimetic or anticoagulant prescription drugs. It has been found that Irish moss can interact with these medications and worsen their side effects. Please consult your medical physician if you have additional questions and concerns.


How do I use it on my face and skin?

High in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties it’s great for skin issues and overall maintenance. for face mask and using it for acne, eczema and psoriasis etc it’s used the same way. Wash desired area as normal.

Apply a thin(not too thin) layer and let dry. You can leave on as little as 10-15 min to all day if desired. Wash sea moss off and apply a good moisturizer to retain moisture to given area.

How is Sea Moss mailed/delivered?

We send fresh made batches in glass mason jars either made that day or the night before. Most times you will receive your gel in liquid form and once you refrigerate it will gel up. Some orders may receive orders in gel form from being refrigerated over night. Both are still good to use. Please remember to refrigerate upon arrival.

How long before I see results?

It usually takes just a few days. Sea Moss is your co-pilot while your diet is the Pilot. Diet changes are not necessarily needed for results but recommended for a healthier lifestyle. Remember drink plenty of water, get atleast 15-30 min of sometype of exercise daily and pay attention to your body!

Since I started taking sea moss I feel funny or weird. Is this normal?

Each persons body is different and requires/lacks different nutrients or minerals than the next person. First thing you should ask is what else you ate or did when you took the sea moss?

Sea moss is all natural and most times it’s other things that’s causing the feeling other than the sea moss. Always remember pay attention to your body, it won’t lie when it’s feeling good or feeling bad.

Does sea moss interact with other medications?

We are not medical doctors and cannot advise for certain on this. Please conduct your own research in regards to drug interactions.
